Airship 2

This illustration is way, way, way overdue. I've been in a rut for the past few months with regards to my personal work. I have all these ideas of things I'd like to do (fabric design, printmaking, SEWING, brooch-making..), but through a mixture of uncertainty, pessimism, and spending too much energy on my day job, not a lot of them come to fruition very readily.

I have been working on a few different commissions this month. It's been really good for me to have a few weeks of feeling like my illustration career is at the forefront. I'm actually in the studio today without any paid work to do (some days, the only thing that can force me to cycle here after a draining day at work is the anticipation of sending an invoice) and unusually, I picked up on this old project, of which the drawings were already done, and I finished it. Excellent!

So, as you can see it's a continuation of the last illustration I did; Airship 1. I really love the rusty colour of this one, if I do say so myself.

On a side note, I've heard tell that GFC is going bye-bye. I haven't seen the effects of this yet, but just incase you're following my through that, please pop along and follow me on Bloglovin' too, just so we don't lose each other.
