A Fun Favour

Recently I was asked by a friend to design a poster for a show he's putting on. Money was offered but I politely declined, and besides, I enjoyed doing it and it was for a local show in our home town (I haven't seen any good posters for gigs around here in so long - not that I mean to blow my own trumpet).

Anyway, here it is. I drew it differently to how I would normally approach a drawing. I focussed on making up the marks out of shapes and dashes, and I really like how it's turned out.

Ed Roth

It's been a while since my last update. I have been doing things here and there, but some I shan't share and others I can't share(just yet), so there we are.

Something I will share however, is this collaboration between myself and the awesome Jason Nye. Inspired by Ed Roth, it was just a bit of fun. Initial drawings by me, vector illustration by Jase.

Pattern Rally #1

Last week I took part in the floral pattern rally on Illustration Rally, which if I haven't mentioned before is a brilliant blog for inspiration and networking. I don't have much experience of either drawing flowers or creating repeated patterns, but I managed to get it to a point I was happy with it. Hope ya like it!

Submotion Orchestra

So I did another illustration for Amelia's Magazine, this time for a review of Submotion Orchestra. It's pretty simple but I'm mostly pleased with how it came out. I'm trying really hard to start adding confident colour to my work.

Happy Birthday Gary

It was my boyfriend's birthday on the 8th and so it was only natural that I make him a card. Unfortunately, upon typing said date into wikipedia in hope of finding some interesting trivia to aid the design, I found out the above.

I share it with you from a design point of view, in that I think I executed the type nicely. Other than that I should probably be given a prize for most inappropriate birthday card.

He did like it though.

Queen of the Rats

I'm really pleased with this drawing. I think I want to finish it at some point - shock horror!

In fact, I'm in touch with a chap who is going to be taking down his artwork at a venue soon and wants to replace it with other peoples', one of which might be me if I have the work. I think I want to finish a series of drawings based on these weird people wearing dead animals that I've been drawing.

I think.

Mokita

Another illustration for Amelia's Magazine, this time for a review of the Mokita Symposium @ Pick Me Up graphic art fair, London. All male cast of speakers. Tsk tsk.

P.S. I had a terrible day of printing on Wednesday. It all started with some woman at work, when I was being perfectly polite as always-- and anyway, not putting the Lewisham prints up until they are PERFECT. Which they are not. Sorry.

Elementary

Today I used ink and did Holmes.

I have still yet to photograph the 'Lewisham' print or put it in my shop. I think I have been spending too much time working the day job - either that or I've been watching too much Holmes.

Tomorrow or the next day. Probably.

Nick Cave

This week, amongst getting the H.G.Wells prints together so that I can make some sales ('Lewisham' is on the threshold! - photo evidence soon), I've been doing scribbles of Nick Cave. This month at Illustration Rally it's Portrayal March and so I've been working on 'Ideal Dinner Party Guest'.

I knocked this version together because I'm running out of time for this week, but I'm hoping to take my drawings further and turn them into a print, of which will be for sale to any of you Nick Cave fans out there.

Peace!

Jean-Pierre Braganza @ LFW

Over the weekend I did an Illustration for Amelia's Magazine. It was for a review on Jean-Pierre Braganza's autumn/winter 2011 collection shown at London Fashion Week, written by Amelia.

People. Everywhere.

Recently all I have been drawing is people. My friend Chris, he has also been drawing people. We might be putting those people together for your enjoyment in some form or other. I'll keep you posted.

For now, here are some people, because I haven't updated in a while.

Invoice. In Voice? Inv Oice?

Greetings!

I know, I know. It hasn't even been three months and I'm updating again. I must definitely be ill. BUT NO. I am updating to show you all my lovely new invoice design. I'm particularly pleased with it, not only because it means that I am reacquainted with inDesign, but because I had a need for an invoice.

Recently I have been working with Paul Brooking of Reggie again, helping out with pitches and assistanty things. It's been great to be proactive again and the experience is really invaluable. Stepping into marbled halls and high-rise meeting rooms has been both exciting and terrifying!

365 Challenge

Hello! Second post in 24 hours, that must be a personal record or something.

I mentioned in my previous post about Reggie that I'm endeavouring to keep a bit more active on the creative front, to keep the ball rolling. One way I'm doing this is by taking part in a 365 challenge with a peer and friend from University, Kalie Stanton(Check her out! She also has a blogspot).

I update my tumblr almost every day these days, so I don't see why I shouldn't post the fruits of my labour on here aswell - at least the stuff I'm particularly pleased with. Anyway, if you have a tumblr then go ahead and follow us!

Reggie T-Shirts

So, again, it's been a while. Just updating to let you guys know that the T-shirts DID go live, but I've been so busy plugging like mad on facebook and Tumblr that I completely forgot about my poor old "professional" blog. Apologies.

So, like I say, the t-shirts went live in December. I've had a few sales but it's proving very hard to get facebook friends (people I know in "real life") to put their hands in their pockets and purchase a shirt! There is a need to get this out to the wider world, so i need to become a social networking genius if I'm to make my fortune.

So, the shirts! www.reggielondon.net

I went down to London to meet Paul and drop in on the shoot. Glad I went, 'cause it was good to feel like part of the process still (plus I got to pick up my own shirt, and well, I've never seen a fashion shoot before).

You should definitely BUY A T-SHIRT for yourself or someone you know, or else please do me the huge favour of passing this on. Blog about it, tweet about it, facebook status about it. It's the only way this project can work.

Last thing to add is that I'm trying to keep a bit more actively creative after a long break so there will be more regular updates on here.
